Costa Blanca’s Javea – Why It’s The Most Popular Destination

The Costa Blanca has always been a popular tourist destination with Brits and Spaniards. Property along the Costa Blanca coastline remains among some of the cheapest available, including new build properties. The area does not suffer from overpopulation like the Costa del Sol, which has also been a popular destination for decades.

There are some beautiful coastal towns and villages along the Costa Blanca, and the town of Javea is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and, for this reason, extremely popular. Not just pretty, but it has all the amenities available and remains authentic in the atmosphere – If you are looking for “real” Spain, then Javea is worth a look.

Access

There are many things to consider when buying a property abroad, not just the price. One of the most important considerations when buying a property in Spain is that it should be accessible. The property might be cheap, but if family and friends cannot visit, or you cannot visit them without lots of expense and stress, you might feel highly secluded. Javea is only around an hour’s drive from Alicante, which offers up a range of flights from many companies, so you can usually get a relatively economical ticket throughout the year.

Hot in the City

Alicante is popular with tourism partly because the airport is just a few kilometres away. While there are beaches, they are usually full of people, as is the city itself. If you are looking for a relaxed environment, there are better choices than Alicante. Indeed, “hot in the city” would be a good phrase! That’s the beauty of Javea and the surrounding towns and villages in this area. Just far enough to avoid the hustle and bustle but close enough for access to those essential amenities like the airport and consulate.

Old Meets New

Javea is a marine town and the perfect example of old and new. The old town dates to the fourteenth century and adds real character and atmosphere to the town. Denia is another popular destination and a stone’s throw from Javea. From here, you can get a ferry to Ibiza and other Balearic Islands. The beautiful Montgo Natural Park is also nearby, there is a fabulous choice of restaurants, beaches, and the promenade. Rental property does well here, so if you are looking for a cheap property with rental potential, Javea is a town to consider.

Climate

Compared to the UK, Spain is a whole new world! The Costa Blanca has a Mediterranean climate with short winters and long hot summers. January is usually the coldest month of the year, with an average temperature of around 12.3 °C. August is hot, hot, hot! You can expect around above 30 °C throughout this month which makes the cool air and beaches extremely inviting. The people of Javea enjoy approximately three thousand hours of sunshine a year and all the pluses of Mediterranean life as well as the climate. Move out here, and you could be doing the same!
